Made it just under the wire - the baby shower is tomorrow evening. The pattern is from Knitpicks' Amanda Lilley designs. I used baby soft acrylic doubled. The buttons I found at a yarn shop in Plymouth, Michigan. Don't you just love ladybugs?

Getting started
Thinking about how much I spent on creating a professional wardrobe and how consistently I have been disappointed with the fit, I decided to set a goal of mastering the fitting of a long sleeve button down blouse. Being six feet tall and full figured presents dozens of fitting challenges and possible alterations.
My biggest annoyance: Gaposis at the front buttons. It's cheap and distracting. Call me fussy, but I shouldn't have to use Hollywood fashion tape to hold together the front of a $200 silk blouse. As the fashion stylists say, "we can do better."
My first skill: the full bust alteration.
My insight: it's not girth, it's depth.
In my next post I will describe my weekend at sewing camp and the magic of the FBA.
